2009 North American tour and all other 2009 gigs here.

by hellomyfriend » Sun Nov 15, 2009 11:28 am

I spent the longest time going through the tour banter this morning. Made me fall in love with them all over again.

Thanks again, Sarah. [image] [image] [image]

I always knew he went that extra mile for me [image] [image] [image]

Thank you all again for your words. [image]

Did anyone find anything wrong / not as good as it could be / typos / slow page load times / anything else when they've been looking?

Feel free to let me know. I would rather know than not...

Or is it OK to take it out of beta and let it out further into the wild?

Thanks.

But maybe that's just me? It's possible...I usually have too many things open. [image]

I know the banter page is slow. There's nothing much I can do about that unless I split it and I didn't want to do that.

Seeing as the banter is also on the appropriate show page, the banter page was more for searches or for anyone who wanted to watch just banter and who was happy to be patient on load times.

Every other page is fine on my computer. But I know not everyone's computer is the same, so I would be interested in people's thoughts...

Does it make unusable or annoying, Jessica?

I just thought of this:

One thing that could be helpful is a link to the video accompanying the embed. Sometimes I will start a video and then stop it because I won't necessarily want to view the entire clip, but it will continue to load on the page when paused, which slows down the load time for any other video I might want to watch.

With a link, there could be an option to view the video on youtube as opposed to within the site. I know it's possible to use the youtube menu to copy-paste the address, but that's not as convenient as right-clicking and opening a link in a separate tab.

A double click on the video would open it in youtube. It opens it in a new tab for me as that's how I have my browser set up, but a double click should take you to youtube somehow. Either in the same window, a new tab or a new window, depending how you have it set up.

Adding links to each video? That's a good few hours work. :)

Thanks though. Something to think on. [image]

Sorry Nik, I don't see the need for the links as clicking on the video takes me to the You Tube ;).

But I still have problems with downloading the vids through the page and the page blocks the browser. I have to restart it. Anyone else uses Opera here?

I tested it under Opera, along with Firefox, Chrome, IE and Safari.

I'll investigate more with Opera just to make sure.

Thanks for discussion, everyone. [image] Please keep it coming. [image]

Do you mean downloading the vids or streaming the vids?

...and the page blocks the browser.

I'm reading this as freezes the browser, is that right? The only page mine freezes on is the Banter page, but it soon sorts itself out...

Sorry Sylwia. Not trying to correct your English, just making sure I'm understanding it right. [image]

Yes to streaming, and yes to freezing, no matter which page I visit. But maybe there's a problem with the settings of my computer, if no-one else has the same problems :-/. I should clean my laptop...

That's alright [image] , my thoughts are sometimes faster than words ;D.
