FANS OF THE CONCHORDS

MESSAGE BOARD

The Pre-show Playlist!

2010 European tour and all other 2010 gigs here.

by onlyalways » Thu Jun 24, 2010 9:16 am

Thanks to several of the members' supernova-like memory, we have a list of some of the more notable songs the Conchords played before and after the show for this tour.

You know, for the nostalgia goodness.

Please shout out any songs you remember that we may have missed!

<-------- not one of the supernova memory girls :P

Yeah, my memory is crap. The only song I remember is Sexual Eruption by Snoop because we talked about it. [Bret] We talked about it a lot. [/Bret] [image]

Oh and there was a french song that sounded just like Foux du Fafa and none of us have any idea who it's by, what it could be called or even a lyric [image] :-\ ... is there anyone here who might know? It's driving me crazy trying to figure it out. [image] I've never listened to so many random french pop songs in my life. [image]

I think I might have become a fan of Serge Gainsbourg. [image]

I did a "foux du fafa" sounds like search on google, and someone suggested looking up Stereolab songs on youtube. I've listened to the first six or so, but no luck...though I really like them! [image] Also, I didn't actually hear the song in LA, but maybe I was in the bathroom or too excited to pay attention to the music. :P

Someone also said they think this was an inspiration (and I agree with the instrumental stuff), though it's totally not the song y'all heard since it's in English. [image]

ADD: if anyone tries a similar search, you might want to search something like foux fa instead of "foux du fafa" since there seem to be lots of spelling interpretations. [image]

I could have also been too excited, but I don't remember it being played at either of the Cali shows. I definitely remember it being played I think it was the Manchester show. I was like, "Is this Foux du Fafa?!" ???

It was definitely played in Berkeley, I remember because you pointed it out to me. [image] Also, for some reason my brain wants to remember it being played after the gig in LA but I might just be dreaming that part. [image] [image]

Woah, I think it is! But I think any french song sounding like Foux du Fafa would sound like it now since my memory of it is almost nonexistent. But it's Serge Gainsbourg and I'm pretty sure it's exactly it... #aziz# Awesome! #glomp#

???

I heard this over the weekend and when I hit the refrain I was immediately taken back...
